Remember this Brueram dress that I sewed last year? Both our eldest and me fell in love with that dress. This year it was time for a Brueram top and dress from Sofilantjes* for our middle one. It is the perfect light summer dress with the woven fabric.

Yes, the Brueram dress is back! It really is a must have from the Sofilantjes family. Maybe it is a bit of an odd one out because of the woven fabric but the shirring makes that is fits nicely and it grows with your kid. As you can see our eldest is still wearing hers, although she has grown in length and a bit in her chest.

Our youngest is also wearing a Brueram dress that she sewed. Since our girls are a bit younger than hers we get to wear her beautiful makes too. The Brueram dress is on sale for the upcoming 3 days!

There are three length options: top, dress and maxi length. This time I made the dress length, which has a nice overlapped front. Additionally, the back is longer than the front, which makes the silhouette of the dress really lovely.

The shirring is actually not very difficult but doing it after a while still makes me dread it a little. What you do is sew rows of stitching with elastic thread in the bobbin. I used a rather large stitch so that the elastic could pull the fabric together. After finishing the shirring you can steam the back with your iron so that the shirring shrinks even further and makes the back nice and stretchy.
