It is swim season and our eldest could use some new swimwear. Although she is still wearing her favourites: the infinity bikini and the sorbetto bikini. She loved the Elowyn sports crop from Petite Stitchery* when she saw it. It became even better when she found out she could pick out two different combinations to make it reversible. Great to make a reversible swim top!
It should be a quick sew to sew the Elowyn sports crop but I struggled a lot with sewing the elastic to the openings in the swim top. Especially in the neck I took it out several times before I was happy with the result. For the bottom I used the bottom from the Fallon swimsuit. I love the different stripes so that I could use different colours that would match with both sides of the top. Which combination do you like the most? You cannot tell in the pictures but the blue fabric has dots on it that represent waves, a real wavy top! Our girl prefers the leaves side.
There are different necklines to choose from in the Elowyn sports crop. High, middle (and low for the Adult Elowyn sports crop) neckline. I chose the middle neckline for both the front and back. I felt the high scoop would be a bit too high up for our girl.
Our girl is very happy with her swimsuit and took it out for a swim right after we made pictures. It will get lots of use the upcoming weeks that for sure! She even requested more in regular knit.
Fabric: the colorful leaves and the blue lycra come from Royal Look, the waves lycra comes from Takoy. The solid colors come from my stash.
