The moment I saw the tester call for the Float dress and top I knew our girl would love it! Indeed when I showed it to her she wanted one and of course with as many layers as possible. With the Float dress and top from The Sewn Edge you can create 10 different garments. You can pick and choose, mix and match your own unique design. For the dress you can choose a high or low bodice (where the layers are attached). Additionally you can choose up to three layers (for the high bodice) and two layers (for the low bodice). Once you have chosen your options for the front you can make a different decision for the back of the dress. For the front I chose the high bodice with three layers, for the back I chose the low bodice with two layers.
It had been a while since I last sewed with woven fabrics and although I have quite a stash of woven fabrics I only had a few options that were long enough for the bodice. This makes choosing easier as there weren’t that many options. The dress is not a quick sew but a very satisfying sew. The inside looks just as nice as the outside and the type of woven fabric that you use makes it more sturdy or flowy. You can even make the dress in stable knits if you don’t like the zipper.
Our girl loves the flowy layers of the dress and the length! It is a perfect summer dress and the 2 snaps make it even possible to wear it longer. I expect that our girl can still wear it next year! You can get the pattern with a discount of 20% until Sunday June 20th.
