Our girl adores flutter sleeves. I am not sure what I think of it. However, I have the kids schooner tee and dress from Jennuine Design* already on my to sew list for a while. So when I saw the tester call for the adult Schooner tee and dress I jumped in on the occasion. I must admit I forgot the Schooner tee also had a dress included. I sewed up the tee for myself.
The eye-catcher of this tee are the ruffled dolman sleeves. And I must say the way these sleeves are sewed is just awesome. The pattern consists of only 3 pattern pieces, the front, the back and a neckband. The ruffled dolman sleeves are part of the front and back bodice pieces. It is really a quick sew with a great fun result. I love the look of the top and the sleeves are growing on my. Of course I need to sew one for our eldest as well with her love for flutter sleeves. Since I realised that also a dress is included I might consider making a dress for her.
I did have a cutting error while cutting this top. The top has the option of a high low hem or just a straight hem. I cut the high low on the front and the straight hem on the back. I was afraid that it might show but I love the result. What do you think, can you tell my cutting error? I removed 5 cm from the top even though I am 10 cm shorter than the length the pattern was designed for. So check out the finished length to determine your length instead of just adding or removing length. The Adult Schooner is only $6 through Thursday, and the rest of the shop is 30% off with code ASCHOONERRELEASE.
