Slowly the spring dresses are coming. Weather is bouncing between +10 degrees Celsius and colder days so hopefully we can wear these new dresses soon! The newest dress(es) is (are) the Amethyst top and dress from Boo and Lu Patterns*. It is a faux wrap dress with beautiful details.

The first detail that caught my eye was the collar. It is a nice detail and gives the dress a little more of a classy look, don’t you think? I used a different fabric to make it stand out from the rest of the dress. The green fabric was a leftover from this dress. I always keep my scraps. I just love using them again for other projects.

Of course those sleeves and the keyhole detail are what makes this dress special. Our eldest also fell in love with the keyhole sleeves and of course asked if the next dress that I would sew would be this dress for her. I told her she needed to wait since I am testing a couple of other dresses first.
I like that you can also combine two different fabrics with this dress. It takes quite a of lot fabric and the purple fabrics were a leftover from the test version of this dress. Just enough to make another test dress out of that fabric. As you can see some details like the length of the dress changed in the final pattern (the colorful dress).

Fabrics: the colorful fabric is knit from Nooteboom Textiles (I used it before in this top), the purple knit fabrics are leftovers from this dress
