Muskoka colour block fleece dress

Our middle girl loves warm cuddly fabrics and is also feeling the coldest of the family. So I am always in search of sewing patterns for warmer fabrics. Besides straight forward sweaters I have not found too many nice dresses. When I saw the tester call for the updated Muskoka Fleece dress and tunic from Pollywoggles Patterns I knew it would be perfect for our middle girl. The pattern is specifically designed for fleece fabrics.

I used alpenfleece (or polar fleece I think it is called in English) for the dress and it works great to get that nice shape of the dress. You can opt for a colour block dress, which I of course chose, or for a plain dress. The dress length is quite long (our girl happily discovered), it ends at the upper calf. There is also a tunic length. She can definitely wear this dress for a couple of years I hope (if her arms do not grow too much in length…). Besides that there are long sleeves and half length sleeves included.

Besides the split collar that I sewed there is also a neckline with binding and a hood included. Our girl is very happy with it as it nice and warm and perfectly on time for the cold weather we had last week.

Fabrics: petrol alpenfleece comes from Nooteboom Textiles, the flower alpenfleece comes from unistoffen
