Striped leggings in knit denim

Our girl could definitely use some new leggings. She is growing in length, so each season she needs new leggings. Last year I made these leggings and they are already too short. The Callens Leggings (Nederlands patroon) from Sofilantjes are a great addition to your pattern collection because of all the options.

We love colour blocking so I of course chose the option of the side stripe. There are many more options in the pattern: short or long length, regular or flared and even a gathered stripe. I wanted to sew the flared option, but our eldest said no. So I have to just make them for one of her sisters, who do not have such a strong opinion yet.
Another great aspect of these leggings are the gusset (which you can see in one of the pictures below). It makes the chance of ripping out of the leggings much smaller.

These leggings were her favourite, but they were too short for her. She loved them so much because of the fabric. So she asked me to sew another pair of leggings with the same fabric. Unfortunately, the blue denim jersey was sold out so we went for black denim jersey. Of course with glitters on the side.

The callen leggings are designed for knit fabric and therefore sit very comfortable. I sewed the jersey waistband which includes elastic. There is also a yogaband option and a waistband for rib fabric. The leggings are well approved by our eldest and sit very comfortable according to her.
