In the beginning of December, 5 out of 4 patterns* released the big friendly hoodie, a free pattern (until December 31st 2021) to create a big comfy hoodie.

We were about to go to friends one evening and I thought, these hoodies are perfect for the ride back. These friends live about 5 quarters of an hour drive away and we usually drive back after the kids’ bedtime, which means the kids sleep in the car. When we get home it is usually a hustle to get their coats off when they are half asleep. Enter the Big Friendly hoodies, within two hours I created three hoodies (love the projector).

Our eldest was a bit at the end of her size range (the sizes included are: small kid, medium kid, big kid, adult, adult plus) so I thought let’s make a size bigger. Well, it turned our very big (a bit too big, if that is possible). So for the other two kids, I just sticked to their own size. I was a bit lazy and didn’t hem the one for our middle and youngest daughter (I was in a time rush to be finished before we had to leave). For the sleeves I used the fabric with the wrong side out. I used alpenfleece for the hoodies so the wrong side is nice and cuddly.

The girls love their big hoodies and wear them all the time. During the holidays when they watch television in the morning. They also turned out very useful when we were in quarantaine and we did not have to go anywhere. And of course in the car. They love to wear them as it covers most of their body so they stay nice and warm.
