I love patterns with lots of options to really put together your own dress. This pattern definitely has lots of options. It includes 4 different sleeve lengths, 2 different bodice lengths and 2 different skirt lengths (tunic and dress) and then different options with the placket and ruffles. I love asymmetrical details so I of course opted for the asymmetrical placket. It took me several orders to find buttons I liked. I don’t use buttons that often and when I do I usually just need a couple of them. I have lots of single or pairs of buttons. For this dress I needed 4 the same buttons, which I didn’t have in my stash. The first batch of buttons I ordered where either too small, too big or too ugly, so I returned them. In the second batch these buttons were the ones I liked the most. They could be a bit bigger, but I couldn’t find ones that were the right colour, the right size and not too expensive.
The skirt underneath the dress is also included in a pattern and is a standalone skirt, just a bit longer than the dress. I used some unfamiliar fabric with little stretch that I have been gifted several years ago. It sparkles so of course our girl loves it!
