Colour blocking with the shift tee

Every time I am amazed how Elles from Misusu designs a new pattern that is so out-of-the-box and different from what I have seen so far. This is also the case for the new released shift tee! This shift tee is perfect for colour blocking and using up scraps, which is totally in my alley. I thus love the shift tee! I sewed one for our youngest and one for myself. Get your shift tee for kids or adults today!

The shift tee is a looser tee that has two lengths: hip length and cropped length. Both for our girl and myself I sewed the hip length. In total there are four different pattern pieces (excluding the neckband) so you can combine 4 different fabrics if you like. I did so for my tee. For the tee of our little one, I combined three scraps. I love the diagonal lines in the tee, which is mostly accentuated if you use different fabrics for the main bodice. The split that I sewed in both our tees is optional and you can also sew a straight hem. The method of sewing the split was new for me but the result is great. Elles always seem to surprise me with what she comes up with in her new patterns.

I was in between sizes with all my measurements. I chose to sew the smaller size because I knew there would be enough ease around. I love the fit and will definitely be making more of this great basic, not-so-basic, tee with a twist. The tee for kids, adult and the bundle is discounted until July 11th. Keep an eye on my instagram account for something fun next week…

Fabric: the animal print is Deep in the jungle from Lillestoff, a leftover from this dress. The yellow Big Cross is from Megan Blue Fabrics gifted by my mother. The other yellow fabric was a leftover from this top for myself. For the tee of myself the geometric print was a leftover from this maternity top, the birds fabric is Swalwoln from Lillestoff other fabrics come from de Stoffenstraat.
