Janie dress and separates from PS&co

A new set for myself with colour blocking, what’s not to love?! Petite Stitchery just released their new patterns and the Janie dress and separates is one of them (another one that I sewed in the Elliot dress which I sewed for our youngest). The great thing about these patterns is that they start at baby sizes and go up to adult sizes.

The pattern includes a skirt and a top, but you can also sew them together and create a dress. I used the separate option so that i can combine the top with jeans or the skirt with another top. For the top I chose the boat neck, colour blocked version and simple long sleeves. Other options are a crew neck, short sleeves or bishop sleeves. The bottom of the top has elastic in it which combines nicely with the skirt.

Next time I would size up for the skirt because with the fabric I used it shows a lot of my body. I feel a little more room would be better. I love the detail of the pockets on the skirt, such a nice fun detail, which makes it an unique skirt. I sewed the knee length skirt with a slit on the side. A mini and midi length are also included.
