Little Elf Amelie

About a month before Christmas I saw IvL – Hecho con Amor post cute little elves on Instagram, Amelie and Jose. I fell in love with the elves and sewed an Amelie elf for our youngest for Christmas. In her Facebook group you can find the free pattern.

I used scraps for the bodice and the clothing of little Amelie. For the hair I used the same fabric I used for these slippers and on these unicorns. The pluche comes from Stoffen Hemmers The fabric is just perfect for stuffed toys and to add a fun detail on items for our girls. For the face and the arms I used swimsuit lining, left from this swimsuit. It is a bit stretchy but I couldn’t find anything else that I liked.
Our little girl loves dolls and stuffed toys, so also this little elf is just perfect for her.

For the wings I used batting, about 1 cm thick and some interfacing. The batting gives it a nice effect. Next time I would use sturdier interfacing to keep the wings standing up better.

Fabric: scraps from my stash. The pink pluche comes from Stoffen Hemmers.
