I already had the free unicorn pillow pattern from Rebecca Page* for a year. This year with the unicorn rage still going strong in our house I knew it would be a great gift for our two eldest. They received it during Christmas and indeed it was a very popular gift.
I used fabric that I still had from the dresses that I sewed for our girls for our wedding (dress for our eldest and dress for our youngest back then). For the manes I used Indian fabric that was gifted to me from my aunt whose mother is Indian. The unicorn horn fabric is a leftover Lotte Martens fabric that I picked up during one of our sewing weekends. The fluffy pink fabric is Pluche from Stoffen Hemmers.
The unicorn pillows were an enormous hit and are the new pillows of both girls. For now the unicorn did even beat this bunny, which was the favorite of our eldest for a long time. I embroidered the names of the girls on the unicorn so we know which was is which. Below you see a sneak peak of the gift our youngest received for Christmas. Of course when her sisters are in the picture she wants to be in the picture as well.
