Gummy bear tunic and dress

Patterns from Candy Castle Patterns* always includes many options. Also the Gummy bear top, tunic shirt and dress is packed with options. I sewed a dress with neckband and kangaroo pocket and a tunic with a hood with binding.

When signing up for this test I asked our eldest which options she would prefer. She said she wanted the one with the thumbhole cuffs and the kangaroo pocket. Luckily the thumbhole cuffs can be added to all long sleeve options. The kangaroo pocket is part of the dress length so we settled on the dress with the kangaroo pockets and a neckband. I love the tunic length with a hood so I suggested to our girl to sew that one next. She agreed as long as she got the thumbhole cuffs.

The Gummy bear pattern includes four different lengths: shirt length, banded top length, tunic length and dress length. Three sleeve lengths, short, elbow and long sleeves, are included. The hood has three variations, hemmed, lined or with binding. Additionally, there is a banded front pocket or inseam pockets for the dress length. Also thumbhole cuffs are part of the options, so you can really sew a lot of different garments with this pattern.

I had the perfect piece of fabric for the tunic. I already the stripe fabric for a couple of months but felt it needed a simple dress or tunic to show off the fabric. I am really happy with how it turned out. Even our daughter now likes the tunic more than the cactus dress because of the fabric.
