Tropical shorts

When I went through the closet of my eldest I saw she was in need for shorts. Which isn’t that strange since she prefers to wear dresses and skirts. When I saw that the new Fibre Mood* included a shorts pattern, I thought it would be great to sew new shorts for our eldest.

The adam shorts in Fibre Mood 10 is an interesting pattern, because when I saw the pattern pieces I wasn’t really sure which pattern piece was supposed to go where. Lengthening was a challenge. Also making sure that my directional print in the pockets would not end upside down (I only had a small piece, a leftover from my neighbour during our sewing weekend last year) was interesting. The pattern piece did not make sense at a first glance. Luckily everything went as planned and the shorts were quickly sewed together.

The adam shorts can be sewed in both stretch or non stretch fabrics. I used stretch jeans because knit shorts usually do not have a long life with our kids.
I have a sewiwgmachine with a lot of decorative stitches, since I thought the shorts could use a little extra I used a decorative stitch on the seams. Our daughter loves the result and loves her tropical shorts.
