Flurry Sweater

I love special details on patterns. These cute details make me learn new skills and I love interesting details on clothing. I fell for the drawstring sleeves in the new Girl’s Flurry Sweater by Petite Stitchery*.

You can go all the way with the pattern. In addition to the drawstring sleeve, it also has the option of a sleeve with a gathered shoulder or just a plain sleeve and bodice. I did a circle peplum, but also a gathered peplum and a split hem at the back with optional bows are included in the pattern.

Of course the sleeves take some extra time during sewing, but it is so worth it! I love the effect. For the first sweater that I sewed I used stretch velvet and that gives the sleeves even more drama. The final pattern is made with the striped fabric (a bit more width to the sleeves was added in comparison to the stretch velvet peplum).

The patterns, both the girl’s and women’s flurry are on sale through Monday January 13th at midnight. Each pattern will be on sale for $7.50.

Fabric: the striped fabric comes from my Italian fabric shop, the stretch velvet comes from Nooteboom Textiles.
